Changelog
What's new in Cadence. Every update, from the latest release back to day one.
1.5.3 22 June 2026 Latest 1 change
- New "Forgot to take it" is now a skip reason -- when you skip a dose, you can pick "Forgot to take it" instead of "Other", so your reflections and insights capture the most common reason accurately.
1.5.2 21 June 2026 3 changes
- Fixed Part-tablet doses count accurately -- if you take a fractional dose like 1.5 tablets, your supply count and "days left" estimate now reflect the real amount instead of rounding each dose up. Your existing supply carries over untouched.
- Fixed "Export my data" now opens the share sheet -- the button reliably brings up the share options so you can save or send your full data export.
- New Leave your email on feedback -- the feature-request form has an optional email field, so we can reply if you'd like one.
1.5.1 15 June 2026 1 change
- Fixed "Take all" now asks when you took overdue doses -- tapping "Take all" on a group of medications that are well overdue now asks whether you took them just now or at their scheduled time, the same way a single dose already does. Keeps your timing and rhythm accurate.
1.5.0 13 June 2026 2 changes
- New Skip a dose without the questions -- each medication now has an "Ask why when skipping" setting. Turn it off for supplements or anything routine, and skipping logs instantly with no reason prompt. The skip is still tracked in your history and your rhythm.
- Fixed Smarter grouped reminders -- when several medications are due at the same time and you take one early, the reminder no longer counts it. You only get reminded about the doses you still have left.
1.4.9 12 June 2026 3 changes
- New Turn off the daily welcome screen -- a new toggle in Settings, Notifications hides the morning briefing on its own, so you can jump straight to logging a dose without losing your reflection prompts.
- Improved Gentler trial reminders -- after a trial ends, the welcome screen now appears only for the first few days instead of every morning.
- Fixed Cleaner dose cards -- removed a faint colour edge that could show around the corners of a dose card while swiping.
1.4.8 9 June 2026 3 changes
- New Log and edit doses off schedule -- record a dose on a day a medication wasn't scheduled (it lands in a new "Also taken" section, with undo) and adjust the time a completed dose was taken. Extra doses are kept out of your adherence and rhythm so they never skew your numbers.
- New Per-medication progress charts -- open a medication's history to see its taper dose curve with a "today" marker, plus a "Day X of Y" progress bar for medications with a set course or end date.
- Improved Smarter prescription label scanner -- scanning a label now reads common dosing shorthand (BID, TID, every N hours, and plain English), quantity, refills and more dosage units, and tolerates typos in the medication name. It auto-fills the name, strength, icon, schedule and supply for you.
1.4.7 8 June 2026 1 change
- New Cadence on your watch face -- add the Cadence complication to any Apple Watch face for one-tap access to today's doses. It picks up the app icon colour you chose in Settings.Suggested by Jonathan
1.4.6 4 June 2026 5 changes
- Improved Supply "days left" now matches how you take your meds -- your remaining-days estimate accounts for how often each medication is actually taken, so a med you take a few days a week shows the real number of days before a refill, not just the unit count. Visible in your medication list and on Today.
- New Choose your app icon -- pick from four new icons (Teal, Graphite, Midnight and Sunset) in Settings, Appearance, App icon.Suggested by Jonathan
- Improved Priority medications -- the setting for your most important medications is now clearly named Priority: those doses always get their own reminder and stand out on your Today screen.
- Improved Dose History moved to Insights -- your month-by-month calendar now sits alongside your adherence insights.
- Fixed Better fit on smaller iPhones -- screens now scroll properly on compact devices like the iPhone SE, so nothing gets cut off.
1.4.5 2 June 2026 6 changes
- New Record pills and strength together -- log both how many you take and the strength, like 2 tablets (500 mg), instead of one or the other. Multi-pill doses also count down your supply by the right amount.
- Improved Scan round bottles more easily -- the label scanner now builds up the text as you slowly rotate a round bottle, so curved labels are far easier to capture.
- New Smarter follow-up reminders -- choose to be reminded again after 10, 15 or 30 minutes, up to three times, until you log the dose.
- Improved Apple Watch -- snooze a dose with "Remind in 10 minutes", and tap a dose for its instructions and your day's schedule. Swipe to Take, Skip or Remind.
- Fixed Early doses no longer re-notify -- logging a dose before its scheduled time no longer triggers its reminder anyway.
- New Share Cadence -- a quick way to share Cadence with friends and family from Settings.
1.4.4 1 June 2026 5 changes
- New Add a photo of your medication -- snap a picture of the actual pill or bottle when adding a medication, and Cadence shows it next to the name so each one is easy to recognise at a glance. Handy when you manage several that look alike.
- New Dose Share chart -- a new chart in Insights shows how your taken doses split across your medications, each in its own colour, so you can see your regimen at a glance.
- New Browse your history month by month -- open Dose History to revisit any past month, day by day, with each month highlighting your perfect days, total doses taken, a per-medication breakdown, the times you most often miss, and notable changes like dose adjustments.
- Improved Clearer Explore section -- the Explore card on Insights now sits neatly within the screen and is easier to read in light mode.
- Fixed Reminder time wrapping -- times like "10:00 am" no longer break awkwardly onto a second line.
1.4.3 30 May 2026 2 changes
- New Cadence on your Lock Screen -- a new logo widget puts the app one tap away, so you can open Cadence the moment a dose comes to mind.
- Improved Calmer wording -- gentler, more consistent language across your journey and rhythm views.
1.4.2 29 May 2026 6 changes
- New Log as-needed meds on Apple Watch -- record a PRN dose straight from your wrist. The watch shows when your next dose is due and how many you have taken today, and gently checks in if one comes too soon or past your daily limit.
- Fixed Rhythm stuck on "Building a picture" -- for some people the rhythm kept showing the warm-up state well past the first few days. It now appears on schedule.
- Fixed Fairer rhythm in your first two weeks -- the regularity part of your rhythm now measures against the days you have actually used Cadence, so newer users are no longer marked down for not yet having a full history.
- Fixed Apple Watch app could get stuck loading -- the watch app now opens straight to your doses again.
- Fixed Watch doses now show on Today right away -- logging a dose on the watch updates the day's dot on the calendar immediately instead of waiting for a refresh.
- Fixed Clearer timing insight -- the timing pattern card now reads "Your 12 pm adherence is 83%" instead of the vaguer "have run at 83%".
1.4.1 28 May 2026 9 changes
- New PRN spacing rules -- set an optional minimum gap between PRN doses and a rolling 24-hour limit. A live countdown shows when your next dose is ready, and Cadence gently warns you if a dose comes too soon instead of blocking you. Common pain meds fill in sensible defaults.Suggested by Jonathan
- New Delete All Data -- a new Privacy section in Settings with a one-tap full reset that clears your medications, logs, reflections, notifications, and widget cache.
- New Symptom logs sync to Apple Health -- quick symptom entries now flow through to State of Mind in the Health app alongside your reflections.
- Improved Daily Reflection toggle, fully off -- turning off Daily Reflection now also hides the morning briefing and evening "all done" screen, and stops it from affecting your rhythm. If you only want medication reminders, you can have just that.
- Improved Adherence export -- exported adherence reports now include finished courses and paused meds, not just currently active ones.
- Improved Cleaner onboarding time picker -- pick your first dose time from Morning, Afternoon, Evening, or Night groups instead of one long scrollable list.
- Improved Quick actions on completed doses -- completed dose cards now have an ellipsis menu for Edit Medication, Quick View, and View History.
- Fixed Refill adds to your supply -- refilling a med with 12 doses left and a 50-pack now correctly shows 62, not 50.
- Fixed First-week welcome card -- stays for your full first 7 days regardless of missed doses, then disappears. A skipped day no longer resets it back to "Welcome".
1.3.9 23 May 2026 5 changes
- New Grouped notifications -- when several medications are due at the same time you get one tidy alert instead of a pile
- Improved Apple Watch sync -- the watch stays in sync the moment you add, edit, or remove a medication
- Improved Faster Insights -- drug search, day stats, and the year heatmap all build quicker
- Fixed Rhythm ring animation -- another pass at stopping it replaying every time you return to Insights
- Fixed Watch complication layout -- a small layout issue on older watchOS
1.3.8 18 May 2026 5 changes
- New Reflect redesign -- the daily reflection check-in has been rebuilt from the ground up
- Improved Calmer Today -- a quieter, less busy Today screen that keeps the focus on your next dose
- Improved Present-tense reflection prompts -- mood and energy prompts now ask how you feel right now
- Improved Dismissible lookback card -- the "30 days ago" card in Insights can be dismissed, and resurfaces later with fresh numbers
- Improved Prompt staggering -- in-app prompts are spaced out instead of arriving all at once
1.3.7 16 May 2026 6 changes
- New Feature requests from Settings -- a built-in sheet to send us what you would like to see next
- Improved As-needed (PRN) doses -- you can now mark a PRN dose as taken, and undo it if you tapped by mistake
- Fixed False "trial expired" -- Pro users were sometimes shown a trial-expired message in error
- Fixed Rhythm ring animation -- it no longer replays its count-up every time you open Insights
- Fixed Tab-switch jank -- more smoothing when moving between tabs
- Improved Insights performance -- Insights builds and loads faster
1.3.6 12 May 2026 3 changes
- Fixed Rhythm score in the daily briefing -- it could read 0 instead of your real score
- Improved Faster Insights -- the doctor report PDF now generates only when you request it, so Insights opens quicker
- Improved Today and Insights polish -- a round of visual and wording refinements across both screens
1.3.5 9 May 2026 3 changes
- Fixed Tab-switch hang -- the app no longer freezes when moving between Today, Insights and Settings
- Fixed Widget day rollover -- the home-screen widget now updates to the new day on time
- Improved Heatmap alignment -- the calendar heatmap grid lines up correctly
1.3.4 5 May 2026 6 changes
- New Geo-fence reminders (v0) -- opt-in, location-based reminders so a dose can prompt you when you arrive home or somewhere you've chosen, configured in Settings
- New Symptom logging via tap-region body map -- tap a body region to record where a symptom is felt, alongside severity
- New Monthly review prompt and sheet -- a once-a-month nudge to look back over the past month, with a dedicated review sheet
- New "30 days ago you..." lookback card -- Insights surfaces what was happening a month ago so you can see how things have shifted
- New Per-symptom detail -- tap any symptom in Insights to open a focused view of that symptom over time
- Improved Scan Prescription Label promoted -- the label-scan button now sits at the top of the Add Medication form for new entries, so it's the first thing you reach for
1.3.3 1 May 2026 15 changes
- Removed Retired surfaces -- the "Took with food" toggle, the "Daily Check-in" prompt card on Today and the "Quiet mode" setting are gone. Low-energy mode stays
- New Tap the rhythm score for a breakdown -- see how each component (recent adherence, streak, timing, journal) contributes to your number, with the weights and personal scores laid out as bars
- New Per-medication symptom heatmap -- the symptoms-vs-medications chart now gives each medication its own row of daily squares with a vertical line on the start date, so the question "did symptoms appear after this medication" reads off the page
- New Distinct Today states -- in-progress, all-done and missed each get their own hero treatment, with a warm amber recovery tone for missed (never red, never shame) and softer "catch up" copy
- New Evening close moment -- a calm "all set for today" overlay fires once a day the first time every dose is logged. Quiet, not confetti
- New Doctor report prompt -- when you have enough history (14+ days) and an appointment is likely on the horizon, Insights surfaces a card to generate the one-page summary directly, instead of hiding it in Settings
- New "Adapted" badges on dose cards -- when SmartTimingEngine has shifted a reminder to match when you actually take a dose, the chip on Today now spells the offset ("Adapted +6m") so the magic isn't invisible
- New Severity ramp on symptom rows -- five dots show average severity at a glance; "X days, last 5d ago" replaces the gym-set "X x" notation
- Improved Symptoms-vs-meds chart narrates the data -- "First symptoms logged 4 days after starting Paracetamol" replaces the generic "load is steady" headline when the data shows clustering, with a "discuss with your doctor" caveat. Chart zooms to where the data lives instead of 90 days of empty space
- Improved Period comparison only fires when meaningful -- "Down 17 points vs April" replaces "Down 17% from last period", and the comparison stays quiet when the current period is barely started
- Improved Journal section consolidated -- Symptoms, Medication Effects (now Mood Highlights) and the "log more" hint merged into one card. Bottom of the Journal tab is two cards instead of four
- Improved Cross-screen labelling reconciled -- "Avg X mins late" / "most missed" / "X days" wording is consistent on every tab, "Avg mood 3.0" now reads "3.0 / 5", and the cryptic "=" icon is gone in favour of a clean horizontal line
- Improved Trial pill is calmer -- the orange "Pro Trial / Upgrade" banner on Today is now a slim neutral pill so it doesn't compete with the dose action target or share orange with the DUE NOW state
- Improved "Back to Today" no longer overlaps content -- bottom padding bumps when the floating pill is showing
- Improved Mood calendar de-duplicated -- the redundant in-card monthly grid is gone; the 12-week heatmap at the top of Journal carries that story
- Improved SmartTiming explained in Settings -- per-medication detail now shows the actual adapted reminder time and sample count, instead of a generic "your reminders have been adjusted"
- Improved Health tab no longer triple-counts -- positive metric trends (sleep up, HRV up etc) used to render as a top-level factor card AND as a Baseline Changes row AND on the metric's own card. Now lives only on the Health tab where you'd look for it
1.3.2 28 April 2026 19 changes
- New Quick-add wizard -- adding a new medication is now a 4-tap flow for the common case, with the full form one tap away for tapering, intervals and supply

- Improved 24-hour time -- locale-aware formatting so AU, UK and EU users see 24-hour time throughout the app
