This page explains who writes the guides on this blog and how we research them, so you can judge how much to trust what you read here.
Who we are
These articles are written by the Cadence team, the people who build Cadence, a medication reminder and tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch. We write about medication tracking, adherence and Apple Health because that is what we work on every day. When we mention our own app, we say so plainly, and we try to be fair about its limits as well as its strengths.
How we research and fact-check
We aim for guides that are accurate, current and genuinely useful rather than promotional. In practice that means:
- We verify facts against primary sources. Competitor pricing, platform support and feature claims are checked against the company's own pages and app store listings at the time of writing, and we date our comparisons so you know how current they are.
- We update when things change. When a competitor changes its pricing or a platform adds a feature, we revise the affected articles rather than leaving stale claims in place.
- We cite where it matters. For claims about health outcomes we link to research or authoritative sources so you can check them yourself.
- We name our own bias. On comparison pages we disclose that we built Cadence, and we credit rival apps where they are genuinely the better choice.
Our not-medical-advice policy
Cadence is not medical software, and nothing on this blog is medical advice. Our guides explain general concepts and how the app works. They are not a substitute for the instructions on your medication's label or the advice of your pharmacist or doctor. For anything specific to your medication or condition, always follow your prescriber's guidance.
Corrections and contact
If you spot something out of date or wrong, we want to fix it. You can reach us through the support page. We would rather correct an error than leave it standing.
Cadence is a free medication reminder app for iPhone with unlimited medications and no account required. It is not medical software and does not provide medical advice. Cadence Pro is $9.99 as a one-time purchase.
